A Unique Touch for High-End Interiors

At Elevated Interior Finishes, we specialize in luxurious Venetian plaster, Tadelakt, and microcement—ideal for designers and builders looking to create high-end, custom interiors. These finishes offer beauty, durability, and sophistication beyond traditional paint, tile, or wallpaper. There is an increase in demand for these products and the following briefly describes some of their benefits.

Why Choose Venetian Plaster & Specialty Finishes?

Many designers rely on wallpaper, light fixtures, and furnishings to elevate a space, but true luxury is built into the walls themselves. Venetian plaster, Tadelakt, and microcement provide:

A Natural, Handcrafted Look – No two finishes are the same, ensuring a one-of-a-kind design.
Depth & Elegance – From a high-polish marble effect to a soft, matte stone aesthetic.
Durability & Longevity – Unlike wallpaper or paint, these finishes last for decades.
Seamless & Mold-Resistant – Perfect for high-moisture areas like bathrooms and kitchens.
Eco-Friendly & VOC-Free – A healthier alternative to synthetic materials.

Our Finishes

Venetian Plaster

A centuries-old Italian technique that creates a polished, glossy surface or a natural stone effect. It can be customized for a sleek, modern feel or a rustic aged patina.

Perfect for: Accent walls, ceilings, fireplaces, and luxury commercial spaces.

Tadelakt

A waterproof Moroccan lime-based plaster with a smooth, soft sheen. This ancient technique is perfect for walk-in shower enclosures, spas, and other wet areas.

Perfect for: Bathrooms, wet rooms, steam showers, and backsplashes.

Microcement

A seamless, concrete-like finish with industrial appeal, offering strength and versatility in modern designs. With the correct steps, microcement can be applied over existing tile saving thousands on demolition.

Perfect for: Floors, countertops, showers, feature walls, and minimalist spaces.

Authentic Stone & Wood Aesthetics with Vertical Carving Cement

Using vertical carving cement, we can sculpt incredibly realistic stone walls for wine cellars, fireplaces, or feature walls—adding old-world charm and character to any space. Unlike traditional stone, this technique is applied directly to existing surfaces, eliminating the need for heavy materials or extensive demolition. We can even craft faux wood beams with remarkable texture and depth, offering a cost-effective alternative to real timber. Each piece is hand-carved and customized, ensuring a truly unique and timeless finish.

How to Integrate These Finishes into Your Projects

  • Luxury Residences: Create statement walls, refined entryways, and custom-designed fireplaces.

  • Commercial Spaces: Elevate boutique hotels, restaurants, and showrooms with distinctive textures.

  • Spa & Hospitality: Use waterproof Tadelakt for an ultra-luxe, organic atmosphere.

  • Modern Minimalism: Achieve seamless, industrial elegance with microcement floors and surfaces.

  • Wine Cellars or Eye Catching Feature Walls: Create realistic centerpieces to enhance the realism to a bar, cellar or fireplace.

Trend or Future Staple?

Really, that’s for any one of us to decide. But the truth of the matter is that with so many people looking for something different, extra special or a unique attainable luxury purchase, these products are the perfect answer. Trends come and go - we see that with wallpaper and window treatments. Currently Venetian Plasters and Tadelakts are trending upwards based on multiple factors - home design shows, Instagram, Youtube, Influencers and celebrities alike.

1. Growing Popularity in Residential & Commercial Spaces

  • High-end finishes like Venetian plaster and microcement are becoming more desirable in modern home designs, luxury hospitality, and commercial interiors.

  • The minimalist, organic, and textured aesthetic aligns with the growing demand for nature-inspired design elements.

  • More homeowners are investing in unique, handcrafted finishes to differentiate their spaces, moving away from standard paint and tile.

2. Microcement’s Rise as a Tile Alternative

  • Microcement is quickly becoming a go-to alternative for tile due to its seamless look, water resistance, and versatility.

  • It’s being used in bathrooms, kitchens, and even exterior applications as people move away from grout lines and traditional tiling - cheaper too!

  • As more installers gain experience, its adoption rate will likely increase, making it a standard option in the renovation and new-build markets.

3. Venetian Plaster: A Luxury Staple

  • Venetian plaster is expected to become a mainstream luxury finish, similar to how quartz countertops became the new standard over granite.

  • Its versatility (from highly polished to matte and textured stone looks) makes it appealing for both contemporary and traditional designs.

  • Expect more bold applications—feature walls, ceilings, and even furniture coatings.

4. Increased Demand for Custom & Sustainable Finishes

  • Sustainability and eco-friendly materials will be key selling points. More consumers are looking for low-VOC, natural lime-based plasters.

  • Handmade, custom finishes will continue to be in demand, especially in high-end homes and boutique commercial spaces.

5. More Awareness & Industry Adoption

  • Right now, these finishes are still relatively niche, but they are steadily gaining recognition.

  • Increased social media exposure, influencer and celebrity home tours, and more widespread contractor education will help drive awareness.

  • Builders and designers will start offering Venetian plaster and microcement as standard upgrade options rather than niche add-ons.

We at Elevated Interior Finishes have many connections in places where these products and materials have been popular for decades - New York, Miami, New Jersey, Chicago, Washington DC, Los Angeles etc. Friends of ours in the business include the owners and retailers of the top brands such as NovaColor/FirenzeColor and Viero Decoratives.

Climate insecurity drives many thousands of people to relocate each year from those areas due to the need to escape bad weather or high prices. Where are they projected to move to in the coming years that has good weather, lots of water, beautiful beaches, scenery and is affordable? Michigan!

In short, these finishes are much more readily available due to European/Itanlian suppliers already preparing for the coming years of demand.

Case in point - The Italian brand NovaColor has increased their supplier network in the USA 25% with an additional 15% of retailers being added within the next 5 years. Up until last year FirenzeColor out of NY and Miami was the exclusive retailer in the Eastern United States for the last two decades. In 2024, NovaColor purchased Firenze to pave the way in opening up their North American network.

That might not mean much more than an interesting fact right now, but it is says a lot to where the industry is heading.

The Next Step in Creative Interior Design - Be Ahead of the Curve

The demand for Venetian plaster, microcement, and luxury wall finishes isn’t just growing—it’s evolving. As more people relocate from design-forward cities like New York, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles to Michigan, they’re bringing their tastes and expectations with them. With European suppliers expanding their presence in North America and brands like NovaColor investing heavily in the U.S. market, these finishes are becoming more accessible than ever.

At Elevated Interior Finishes, we’re not just keeping up with this shift—we’re ahead of it. Our industry connections and expertise put us in the perfect position to bring world-class finishes to Michigan’s homes and businesses. Now is the time to offer clients something beyond the ordinary—something truly timeless, sophisticated, and built to last. Let’s work together to shape the future of interior design here in Michigan.
